FRANKLIN--The Franklin Area Chamber has three events slated for August.

On Tuesday, August 17, the Chamber will sponsor a ribbon-cutting at Lisa's Kitchen and Catering, a new restaurant in downtown Franklin. Lisa Ault is the owner of the new facility, located at 425 S. Main St. The ribbon cutting will be at 4 p.m. Persons interested in attending should RSVP by calling the Chamber at 746-8457 by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13.

The Chamber's annual golf outing will be Friday, Aug. 20, at Jamaica Run Golf Club. The event has a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Atrium Medical Center is the event's gold sponsor; Wesbanco is the silver sponsor; and Southwestern College is a beverage cart sponsor.

Businesses who would like to sponsor a hole or tee may do so for $100. There is also space available for additional foursomes. Businesses interested in a hole sponsorship and persons interested in golfing should contact the Chamber no later than Friday, Aug. 13.

The Chamber's monthly luncheon meeting will be at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, at Franklin First United Methodist Church, 303 S. Main St., Franklin. Mike Dingeldein of Steed, Hammond, Paul will discuss the plans for a proposed new Franklin High School.

"We rotate our meetings among various member locations and are pleased to be having our first-ever Chamber meeting at the Methodist Church this month. We also use members to cater our lunches are happy to have Lisa's Kitchen and Catering as our caterer this month," said Peggy Darragh-Jeromos, the Chamber's executive director.

Cost for the luncheon meeting is $8 for members and $12 for non-members. Reservations are required and persons interested in attending should RSVP no later than 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19.
