The Franklin High School Baseball team graduated seven players yesterday during the commencement at the Nutter Center. Those seven players also saw their baseball season end a few hours after graduating. Jordan Pergrem, Dalton, Davis, Cody Blackford, Mike Kernic, Seth Moore, Nate Hunt, & Spencer Matthews played their final game in a Franklin jersey. The Wildcats had one 5 postseason games to capture the Sectional Title, District Champs, and Regional Semi-Final win on Thursday. But yesterday it was a rather David vs. Goliath type of situation playing #1 in the State Johnathan Alder. Alder with an impressive 32-0 record took down the Cats with great hitting 14 hits and scoring 11 runs. And great pitching holding Franklin to just one run.
Franklin and the Seniors finish their season 14-15. Do not let the record fool you. These Cats took the end of the season by storm and came up a bit short of a State Semi-Finals appearance! Great year Cats!! Congratulations to the team and the Seniors that did an excellent job!
