Deaflympics
Joel Gross, a 2000 graduate of Carlisle High School is taking his soccer game to Greece in 2013.  Gross a standout soccer player for Carlisle High School in the late 90's and a standout at Shawnee State University has been apart of the United States National Soccer Team for the Deaf for 8 years.  Gross, also, was the Varsity Soccer Coach for the Carlisle High School boys in 2007-2009.

He first played in 2002 for the team that went to Belgium and won the local international tourney there.  In 2005, Joel played in the Deaflympics in Australia and the US team placed 7th.

Gross is now on his last run with the US team and will be representing his country again in Brazil in 2011, Turkey in 2012, and finish with the Deaflympics in Greece in 2013.

With this great honor comes a bit of effort on the part of the athletes of the Deaflympics.  It is the responsibility of each athlete to raise the money for the trips, tournaments, and training camps.  Joel Gross could you use your help!!

He will be hosting a golf scramble to raise money on Saturday, June 5th at Weatherwax Golf Course in Middletown, Ohio.  The cost will be $75 per person or $300 a team.  Dinner will be provided, in addition to, door prizes and other awards.  Prizes will be given to the top 3 teams.

If you would like to participate in the Golf Scramble to support this local athlete or would like to simply donate to his trip contact Joel at 937-479-1142.  You can also print out the Scramble form below and view a personal  letter from him.

What a great opportunity to support a local athlete in representing our country internationally!
